Stephen’s First Easter
Stephen dyed his first egg and joined his cousins in an egg hunt. He was the first to find his blue egg. He grabbed it and stuck it into his mouth. I tried to capture his mouth covered in blue dye but immediately got side tracked when Stephen put the egg down, piveted and then sat on his egg!
Keep Your Distance
I couldn’t be more serious, in one fell swoop I managed to take out the entire house with a cold. So score that as two of us requiring antibiotics and the third requiring baby Tylenol and a lot of love. That makes it 3 colds this winter and two trips to the pharmacy to get antibiotics. Which is roughly the same amount that I had required for the previous 15 years. Lovely.
Aside from some coughing and copious amounts of snots Stephen is doing well. We’ve got 4 teeth on top and two on bottom with a few others ready to break through. He’s reached that phase where the sounds he makes are definitely more repetitive. There are plenty of mam mam mam mam mam and dada dada dada dada’s going around now. And we had our first full on temper tantrum fit today. Stephanie said she couldn’t help but laugh as she was not expecting it, and he was really going for it. So yeah can’t wait for more of these, I was just saying how boring it’s been around here and we could use some things flying around the house. Interesting times are quickly approaching.
Until next time.
Another Tooth
Stephen’s sixth tooth broke through on February 9th! Just shy of 10 months with four teeth on the top and the two front teeth on the bottom. Needless to say the boy is a drooling faucet!
Stephen does his best Chewbacca
All kinds of funny sounds are coming out of this boy!
And He’s Off
He’s been at this for a little while now, this is just the first capture I’ve been able to get. Walking is not far away.
First Christmas

Here are a few photos from Stephen’s first Christmas. Needless to say our first Christmas with a child was a rather busy one – it was a lot of fun as well. Stephen received lots of gifts and seemed to enjoy the whole spirit of the holidays. He has had a great time playing with all of his new toys. It was the first time several people got to see him so he seemed to always be the center of attention. All of which he loved of course, he never disappoints and always seems to break into a smile. One of my favorite things about him. Make sure and click on the pictures link in the right column to see the most recent pictures and the ones from Christmas.
Teeth count: 3, New blog posts: 1
Yep that’s right, Stephen now has three teeth. Two on the bottom and 1 up top. This should make those feedings a little more risky for mommy. I don’t envy her on that one. Anyway I have fallen behind on the posts of late and am trying to make up for some lost time. Not to worry, you have not missed anything amazing like Stephen riding a unicycle or regularly beating experts at chess. He’s still on the ground for the most part, just that now he’s moving. A lot.
Crawling started about 3 weeks ago and it’s been excitement ever since. I had planned on capturing some video of him crawling but a broken videocamera has pushed that date off for a little bit. The game has totally changed and we are finding ourselves constantly on our toes. It’s great to see Stephen race across the room, his face is smiling the whole time. Watching him barely miss edges of furniture, and walls is another story. His latest trick is to pull himself up and stand there using a chair, coffee table or my leg for balance. While this is cute, he hasn’t quite got the priciples of gavity and physics mastered. So there is always a chance for him to fall into something. All part of the learning.
More posts from the holidays to follow shortly.
He Sure Can Draw A Crowd
Stephen sure made a scene at his first Thanksgiving. Things were approaching papparazzi proportions with all the people surrounding him and taking pictures. It was the first time that several people got to see him so that explained a lot of it. I just can’t wait to see what Christmas is going to be like.
We’ve Skipped Walking and Went Straight to Flying
Yep you heard right, why use two limbs when you can use all four. Walking is so overrated. Kidding of course, this was from a few days ago – playing a little airplane in the kitchen. As you can tell he loves it. Needless to say I think there will be more of these in the future.
Stephen’s First Halloween
He only lasted about a half hour in his costume but it was long enough to get a few shots off. The combination of a warm day (which meant a warm costume) and it being too close to bedtime made for a cranky baby. At least we got to take him to grandma and grandpa’s house so he could show off his costume a little. We’ll start to trick-or-treating next year. Mom and dad both were a little bummed, after having the costume for a few weeks we were anxious to see him in it. We’re are starting to see that some of these “firsts” don’t last that long sometimes.
